Native to North Africa, Europe and the United States, the Antirrhinum is a plant commonly known as dragon flowers or Snapdragons. The pretty flowers derived their name from how the flowers resemble a face of a dragon opening and closing its mouth when squeezed.

Easy to grow, snapdragons are one of the most popular flowers for cottage gardens, border beds, and even containers. The popular blooms are associated with Spring. Since they prefer the cool weather during germination and growth, their gorgeous showy blooms are on display each Spring. Considered to be annual plants, they are typically re-planted each Spring.
