What are popular holiday flowers?

Popular holiday flowers include several varieties of roses, eucalyptus, berries, and pinecones. Our holiday arrangements include a variety of popular flowers for every holiday this winter so that there’s something special for everyone.

What flowers bloom in the winter?

We work closely with farms all over the world to bring you the freshest flowers available throughout all four seasons. Traditional winter flowers include tulips, roses, Christmas greens, lilies, and amaryllis.

How do you arrange holiday flowers?

First, remove the eco-friendly wrapping from your bouquet. Carefully trim each stem of your holiday flower bouquet to the appropriate height and remove any leaves that may fall below the waterline. Place the flowers in a vase of room temperature water with the packet of flower food included in your box. We include a packet of flower food and detailed care instructions with each holiday flower delivery.

How do you arrange flowers on a table?

To arrange your flowers for a table centerpiece, choose a vase that complements your place settings and decor. For flower centerpieces, be sure to consider the height of your arrangement. Be careful not to block the view of your guests.

How do you care for holiday wreaths and centerpieces?

  • Wreaths: we recommend hanging your wreath outside as fresh air extends the life of the wreath. Pick a place to hang your wreath that is cool and shaded. If you choose to hang your wreath inside be sure to keep them away from heat sources like direct sunlight, vents, and open flames. Direct sunlight or heat will dry out the fresh greens causing them to look brown and crispy. Wreaths placed indoors will last about 3 weeks with proper care. One of the most important steps in caring for your wreath is to keep it from drying out. Spritzing the wreath with water every other day will keep it fresh and fragrant, especially in warmer climates. For a bigger pick me up, you can lay the wreath in a container with an inch of water. Be sure to lay it on its back so that the stems of the branches have better access to the water. Wreaths in cooler outdoor climates likely won’t need to be watered this way.

  • Centerpieces: Caring for your centerpiece is quite simple and requires very little upkeep. With the right care, our centerpieces should last about 3 weeks. Upon arrival and ½ cup of water to the center of the oasis foam. Repeat this process every 2-3 days. If your centerpiece has a candle, simply insert the taper into the green candle holder in the center. Keep the candle flame at least 5 inches away from the greens and never leave a lit candle lit unattended. All greenery should be kept in a cool location, away from direct sunlight and any heat source that may dry them out.

How do you care for table trees?

Mini Trees make perfect gifts for a child’s tree, a college dorm room, or any place with space constraints. They last three weeks and can be replaced for a sustainable option. Mini Christmas trees look great on doorsteps or mantles. Upon arrival, remove any wrapping on the pot when you receive the tree and place the pot in the tin provided. Add up to 8 cups of water directly to the top of the tree. It’s best to do this over a kitchen sink to avoid spills. String the mini lights around the tree and that’s it! Place in an area that stays cool and receives indirect sunlight. Heat source or direct light will dry out your tree. Water the tree twice a week. Check daily to see if the soil is dry to the touch. If soil is dry, give it a good drink of water but be careful, too much water can cause root rot. Feel free to decorate your tree with additional ornaments but just be sure they aren’t too heavy for the little tree branches. One of the best things about this gift is that it is a sustainable gift. After the season, you can plant your mini Christmas tree and enjoy it for years to come. Before planting, check to make sure your tree will thrive in your area by referencing the USDA Hardiness Zone Map Bloomsybox’s mini spruce trees can be planted in zones 5 through 10. If you live in zone 7 or higher, you can plant your mini tree right away, but zone 6 and below should wait for warmer weather. In the meantime, keep it in a protected outdoor area like a garage, shed, or covered entryway to allow it to acclimate to cooler temperatures.
